Good performance is a great motivator. As we step into a new year, it’s time to reflect back on the strides we made, the goals we achieved and the recognition we received in the year 2018 so that we know the potential HFE team carries and what defines our goals for 2019.
Hero Future Energies (HFE) proudly turned some of the biggest Indian names greener this year with our Rooftop solar solutions. This includes Delhi Metro Rail Corporation, GD Goenka University, Munjal Showa Limited, and Classic Stripes Private Limited among others. The team in association with CII conducted several workshops at industry clusters across the country aiming to deliberate and offer solutions to accelerate India’s Rooftop solar program.
Feather in the cap for our solar grid business during 2018 include winning 300 MW auctioned by SECI at Bhadla Phase-3 Solar Park in Rajasthan. With this, we are proud to be a part of one of the world’s largest solar parks. Hero Future Energies also won 250 MW in a 2000MW bid auctioned by the SECI for Interstate Transmission System (ISTS)-connected solar projects to be developed across the country. This reinforces our faith in our capabilities to execute large capacity projects.
This wonderful performance was replicated by the wind power arm of the company, we were successful at procuring 75.6 MW at Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) auction. Another successful 300 MW at the NTPC bid was also among the most prominent wins for HFE. The tariffs we stated, our credentials, dedication of each person involved, and the confidence Hero inspires were all responsible for these achievements of rightly feasible projects.
While this past year was indeed successful, it will be wrong to say that we don’t have an eye on the future already. Energy storage is set to be a game changer for renewable energy sector, and our energy storage lab is already working to develop a prototype residential ESS system. While energy storage may seem a simple process of charging energy and then using it later on, it needs to be combined with software that can intelligently manage the overall energy flow and usage. We are geared up to secure a significant position in the Indian energy storage scenario.
The hard work team Hero Future Energies has put in all the business aspects has been met with due appreciation in 2018. We were acknowledged by CII at ‘Performance Excellence Awards 2018’, for our Solar and Wind Plants in M.P., for our solar-wind hybrid project at Kavithal, Karnataka, we were awarded at India Solar Week and received ‘Best Project Finance Deal of the Year’ at Green Finance Award 2018. Undoubtedly the best has been our recognition for best practices followed at our project sites at the Golden Peacock Occupational Health & Safety Award 2018.
With so much achieved in 2018, the upcoming year can only get better. The world will turn green one step at a time but when each step is as progressive as we took this year, we are confident of a really bright future – both for the world and Hero Future Energies.
